Presenting the work of new musicians is a priority for TangoVia Buenos Aires, evident as much in our production of musical recordings as in our international festivals. To achieve this goal, we organize concert seasons and special artistic encounters and produce documentaries and CD recordings.

We present tango in all its manifestations as contemporary and alive.  We are an institution of progressive arts, focused on preservation but dedicated to creation.

Therefore, we want to stimulate the development of tango by sponsoring new composers and presenting the best ensembles and artists (whether known or unknown) in creative and unique situations.  Furthermore, we encourage collaborations with other art forms (not only musical) in order to create channels of communication, learning, and reciprocal enrichment between disciplines, for example, with filmmakers.

The special productions of TangoVia Buenos Aires could be called chapters which form a central theme:  that the tango is a living genre and in continuous development.  For this reason, we have produced festivals, educational books, and movies including “Si Sos Brujo: A Tango Story,” directed by Caroline Neal, and we place emphasis on the “Tango en Vivo” concert series—crowned by the production of 5 CD’s which represent the best of tango music that is being played live today.
